Tallahassee RollerGirls (TRG) is a melting pot of folks working together to make up Tallahassee’s first and only roller derby league since 2006. We aim to be inclusive in all areas of our sport! If you want to skate on the track as a player or as a referee, we have a place for you! If you want to join in the party every game day as a volunteer, we have a place for you! If you want to come to every game and catch the action (fondly referred to as SuperFAN), we have a place for you!
We are not paid for our time or commitment to our community, but we do so for the love of the sport. TRG strives to make Tallahassee proud to be its one and only roller derby team.
League Composition: Capital Punishment, Legiskators, and Sinators
TRG consists of one traveling team and two intramural teams. Our “All-Star” travel team is Capital Punishment, who represent our WFTDA charter and WFTDA ranking by playing teams from all over the globe. TRG also has two intramural “home” teams, for some home town rivalry and competition (and to give less experienced skaters valuable play time!). The Sinators and the Legiskators are drafted from existing league members with every skill and experience level. If you are ready to join, we are ready for you! Check out more information on becoming a skater, here.
Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA)
Founded in 2004, WFTDA promotes and fosters the sport of women’s flat track derby by facilitating the development of athletic ability, sportswomanship, and goodwill among member leagues. The governing philosophy is “by the skaters, for the skaters.” Skaters are primary managers and operators of each member league and of the association. Operational tasks include setting standards for rules, seasons, and safety, and determining guidelines for the national and international athletic competitions of member leagues.
