February Member(s) of the Month: Wargasm and Audrey Scorn!
This month we’re celebrating our two amazingly talented team captains: #44 Wargasm and #16 Audrey Scorn.
As Team Captains, these two veteran skaters have an important role to play in the upcoming 2019 season for the Tallahassee RollerGirls. Offering advice and leadership on and off the track, Wargasm and Audrey are uniquely positioned to shape the team and influence a season that brings a lot of changes for TRG.
In 2018, four members of the team’s top talent moved away, making the leadership and expertise of these veteran skaters even more critical for a successful 2019 season.
Wargasm, whose grandma convinced her to choose that one-of-a-kind derby name, first started with TRG back in 2009. Because she was just 17, her mom had to sign a waiver for her to participate in contact with us.
Audrey has been with us since 2016. Her derby name is an homage to her favorite Twin Peaks character, Audrey Horne.
They both got their start in roller derby in different ways. Wargasm used to be a speed skater but found herself looking for for a team sport. “And who could resist being a part of something so incredible?” she said.
Audrey found herself searching for camaraderie and athleticism, which she says she has found in roller derby.
When they’re not strapped in to their skates and helmets, these two powerhouses work in the Tallahassee community — Wargasm for the Supreme Court of Florida, and Audrey as a videographer and editor.
Who could resist being a part of something so incredible?
So what’s on the horizon for 2019?
“This year I’m looking forward to seeing all of our new skaters level up,” said Audrey. “We’re really focusing on helping everyone become more aggressive and intelligent skaters. Strategy discussion and regular scrimmaging are a huge part of this.”
Wargasm agrees, adding “I’m looking forward to showing fans and other teams that we are a well-oiled machine.”

As for their personal derby objectives?
Audrey is trying to put more of the fun back into her roller derby experience. “My goal is to remember not to take things too seriously because it can kill the fun,” she said.
“This year I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone,” Wargasm said. “There is no place for complacency in my 2019 season.”
The Tallahassee RollerGirls have their first home game on March 16 against Muscogee. For tickets, game dates, and more information, head over to our game page.
