February Sponsor Spotlight: Doc Rob with Ex-Static Chiropractic
We love all of our sponsors, and there’s one that is truly dear to our hearts here at the Tallahassee RollerGirls. That sponsor is Doc Rob, AKA “Spinal Kraken,” physician at Ex-Static Chiropractic (formerly HealthSource Chiropractic).
He has been a supporter of TRG since 2014, when he started his practice in Tallahassee. He says, “Immediately after meeting the team, it was apparent how they were not only passionate about their amazing sport but also about helping the community.”
“Immediately after meeting the team, it was apparent how they were not only passionate about their amazing sport but also about helping the community.”
His office takes a functional approach to chronic pain, injury, and athletic performance — one of the reasons why we at TRG appreciate his sponsorship so much.
“While pain is often what brings people in to see us we’ve found that 95% of the time their real issue is with poor biomechanics and lost functionality,” he said. “And THAT is what my team and I are passionate about treating.”
His office typically uses “low tech/high science” methods with vast amounts of evidence-based results. They also have a lot of high-tech treatment modalities like FDA class IV medical laser therapy, compression muscle and vascular recovery systems, and various other tools.
Doc Rob says he loves being a sponsor of TRG because of the diversity of professions within the team and the “truly inspiring” volunteer and community building efforts we partake in. He says his sponsorship is a great way to support the Tallahassee community.
“I also get a lot of referral business from being a sponsor.”
“I also get a lot of referral business from being a sponsor,” he said. “Not just from announcements during games but also from the players and refs and non-skating officials. The average person in Tallahassee knows 100-200 people that you don’t already know and being a sponsor means I can influence a large number of local residents through the awareness of my services just from getting to know the team.”
So when he’s not treating us for a sprained ankle, chronic shoulder pain, or just getting us mobile, what does Doc Rob do for fun? He hosts magic shows at his office every three months to raise money for local charities.
