Have you ever been told “I wanted to be you when I grew up”? Well I have.

When I first started playing, all those years ago, I was afraid to tell people at my job that I played this crazy entertainment sport called roller derby. People have a lot of inaccurate impressions when it comes to derby girls. We are foul-mouthed, tattooed bad girls with no sense of class or decorum. We have no jobs, no motivation, and spend all our time playing derby and making trouble.

Look out! Two Home Bouts in June!

Have you missed seeing your Tallahassee RollerGirls' in action? Not to fret, the ladies are lacing up their skates, putting on their pads and helmet, ready to take the track. The month of June will feature two bouts on Saturday, June 9th with the Jailbreak Betties taking on the Beach Crawl Sk8ter Dolls at the North Florida Fairgrounds, and Saturday, June 16th with Capital Punishment taking on the Blue Ridge Rollergirls at Tallahassee Skate Inn.

Our MVP of the Month is Chemical A NaCl (aka Salt), who is TRG's Head Referee! She has been with TRG for a year, and has been able to learn and enforce all those countless roller derby rules that ensure safety and fairness in the sport. Salt is always willing (and loves!) to discuss the rules with any skater (or really, anyone!) who has questions, and takes the time to explain to skaters what they did to result in getting the penalties that they did.
