What do you do outside of roller derby: I'm a mother of two and a PreSchool teacher. When I'm not slamming into some of my closest friends as hard as I can on the track, I am usually surrounded by small children.

Athletic or Skating Background: I had an athletic scholarship for Judo and was Captain of the Women's Judo team for several years in college. Before I found TRG, I hadn't really skated since I was 12.

Why I joined derby: From the moment I discovered roller derby, I knew I would love it. I love the full contact athleticism and the competitive spirit of this sport. I love being around other strong, outspoken, encouraging women. This outlet has made me a better mother, wife, teacher, and friend. I joined derby because it looked fun. I have stayed in derby because it is centering and brings out the best in me and my friends.

Best Derby Moment: I'm not sure I have one single best moment, but it is surprisingly thrilling to skate out to the cheers of fans. The energy of our home crowd, especially when they get excited about a great play, is uplifting and exciting.
