How did you come up with your derby name? Does it have any meaning?
My grandmother’s name is Diane, I wanted it to be punny, and it’s what I like to do best… Hitcha. My number came from my dad’s police badge number.
How did you get involved in roller derby? How did you wind up with TRG?
I went to my first ever derby game in Ft. Myers and instantly knew I had to join. Though, I had no prior skating experience I joined their first boot camp in November 2011 and played in my first game 9 months later. I transferred to TRG when I moved to Tallahassee for school.
What do you do outside of derby?
Social work, volunteer, exercise.
Likes? (Anything, derby or just in general)
Being outdoors, going to shows, getting spooked, good friends.
Dislikes? (Anything, derby or just in general)
The sound of bones cracking.
Why is TRG (or roller derby) important to you?
Roller derby is important to me because it gives me an outlet. My love for my team and the sport motivate me to work hard outside of practice to continually improve myself so that I can be a better player, teammate, and captain.
